A rustic and cozy council room, as you know it and how you want it. Located in the middle of the old town, it offers home-style cuisine with regional dishes at reasonable prices. In addition, drinkable beer is offered. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

Super delicious food and very nice service. The ambience also fits and my parents' wedding there was perfect. The portion size is even more than sufficient;)

Utter Insolence (Red Haired Woman) It took almost half an hour from sitting down until we had our 2 hot drinks. When the excuse came: "There's a lot going on inside". This is a home of confidence with traditional cuisine. Expect decent traditional dishes, nicely prepared in sufficient portions. Outside you can enjoy the pleasant square. Inside it is unexpectedly very spacious and the acoustics play a disadvantage. We got what we expect and it was fresh so ok.

Was OK. Would have rather given 3.5 stars. It is nice to sit in the outside seats, the service was okay, our food rather disappointed us. Boring salads, boring fish, chanterelles struck by heavy sauce. The kitchen is average.

The staff is friendly and quick to serve. There are seats in front of the restaurant that allow a view of the beautiful market square. Larger groups can also find space here without any problems.

We sat outside in the outside area. The service was friendly and good at it. The ordered drinks were quickly brought to the place. The food came pretty quickly. The portions were completely sufficient and tasted good. The prices are reasonable for what is offered. We will definitely come back for dinner.

Enjoy authentic German cuisine in a very nice restaurant on the ground floor of Jena's Town Hall. In the middle of the large store, there is a candlestick that has been lit for decades and decades, and it has a long history. The table was large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The meat here is very delicious. I went to eat it twice, and it was delicious because I had never eaten any of the dishes. My wife seemed to be a little weak, maybe the fried egg dish in the photo had a bit of blood leftover. I saw that beer was delicious, but at this time there was a feder visor, so I got it. The food I drank at this shop was the best than the one I drank at any shop. It's likely that I'll be going to Jena again a few years later, but when I go there, I definitely want to have lunch at this restaurant again.

A restaurant on the marketplace, which surprised us with complete emptiness at the end of lunch time. The ambience is historic, but overall it was a bit cold in the walls. The service was friendly, quick and the food was good and tasty. Overall, a place just right to relax after a long hike around Jena. Three points only because the location was quite fresh.

This place is very nice. Food is delicious (I ordered a classic Thuringia dish because I wanted to try it, an it was great!) The service is super fast, and the staff is also very kind. I can't say anything about prices because I don't eat outside in Germany so I don't have a good idea on that. But it was affordable, and I enjoyed it a lot..

Nice place and food is Good

Unusual tasty food, each dish has it's very own taste. Be accurate: spicy mango soup is really spicy. However, it is really tasty, and combination with small grilled chicken filet parts is great. All dishes are delivered in time, even faster than in other restaurants. Friendly staff. Ancient castle atmosphere and matching decorations. Exactly what is needed for family, company or just relaxing alone.

The Ratszeise has home-style food at fair prices. The ambience in these old and historic walls is something very special. In summer you can also sit outside. From ordering to serving, my visits were always very quick. The service was nice. You can also rent small rooms, it was uncomplicated and quick.

We had a delicious lunch in the Council lunch. Everything was super fresh and delicious! The staff was very friendly and attentive!

Very unfriendly staff. We came in the evening guided by Google (it was 23h and supposed to close 1am) and when we asked the guy on a Saturday night if it was closing the guy just said: we are not a night club. I had been in there some time ago, the good it's just okay and the price not good. I don't recommend.

Excellent food and service

Average hearty food at Rathausplatz. The staff is polite, the ambience rustic, the guests tend to be older audiences. I had Thuringian dumplings with red cabbage and roulades. As I said, the food was average. It's nice to get full, but also not a restaurant to talk about when it comes to good dining.

An authentic and inviting restaurant

Very nice food and the only time I've been it was a bit early and so there weren't many people so the atmosphere was a bit lacking. The decor is a bit weird but it's a good German meal overall.

This is a pub very popular, family oriented, be sure you know what you order. Service is good.

Good local cuisine. Reasonable pricing.
